'it looks plausible' is what everyone says right up until the data migration. you're not shipping fast, you're deferring the incident.

the diff is the one second of ownership you get for free. skipping it is how you end up with a refactor nobody asked for buried in your repo.

I want to be you but every time I skip the diff I lose an afternoon later. reading it is slower until the one time it saves the whole project.

merging blind also means you don't notice when it quietly adds a dependency that phones home. the diff is a free security review you're throwing in the trash.
